We're on the road again...

I am still organizing all of my pictures and just came across a few of London that I really like...

Tomorrow Tim and I are flying to San Francisco. Our 2008 World Tour is coming to an end. We are sad to close this early chapter in our lives but are excited to start the next one!

There are lots of new exciting things happening on our horizon so I hope you keep reading!

Everyone in England is drinking mulled wine over the holidays. It's a great way to keep warm! If you're missing a few ingredients, no big deal...it's one of those recipes that if you need to, you can just wing-it! (for me I'd probably skip that sugar all together!)



Ingredients:
* 1 cup water
* 1 cup brown sugar
* 2 cups pineapple juice
* 1 cup orange juice
* 6 whole cloves
* 3 whole allspice berries
* 2 cinnamon stick
* ½ teaspoon salt
* 4 cups red wine
* 2 oranges
* 8 cinnamon sticks, garnish


Method:
1. In a large saucepan, combine water, brown sugar, pineapple juice, and orange juice.
2. Season with cloves, allspice, two cinnamon sticks and salt.
3. Cut the rind of two oranges into strips and stir into the mixture.
4. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and let simmer for 15 minutes.
5. Pour in the wine. Heat to just boiling and remove from heat.
6. Serve hot, garnished with a cinnamon stick

Now, go sit by the fire, turn on the Christmas Carols and enjoy!

The other night we went to a pub in Clapham Junction for some drinks with Tim's cousins, their wives, and their rather large group of Kiwi mates who all reside here in London. While having a great time, I noticed one very obvious trend. Most of these New Zealanders abroad, (yes, myself included) were all wearing Icebreaker's.

Icebreaker is a range of clothing designed by Kiwi's and made from fine New Zealand merino wool. The pieces are really warm and soft, and thin..so they don't feel bulky or itchy. They are designed for layering and last forever! Everyone I knew in New Zealand, both male and female, had quite the collection of Icebreaker pieces to survive winter!

Now, I had the very fortunate pleasure of meeting the ultra-hip, ultra-creative and ultra-successful Jeremy Moon in Christchurch right before we moved. He was just starting to fix up his holiday house through the interior design firm I worked for. He's pretty much the man. I love his brand, his product and am totally inspired by his success.
This is the most classic Icebreaker! See, both girls and boys look great in it!

This is the one I haven't taken off since I've been in London!

I also really love the advertising, it shows off New Zealand's beautiful rugged landscape!


So...if you're feeling cold this winter...hurry up and get an Icebreaker, you won't regret it!

On my third trip to London I finally made it to Portobello Market on a Saturday. Any normal person would have looked out the window and said, yea right, I'm not getting out of my bed today. No, not me, I was determined to go and see what all the hype is about...rain or shine, (more like, sleet or shine). So I dressed up in my workout clothes, (leggings, sneakers, North Face Jacket, £2 hat) and hit the streets. My only warm clothes that live in my backpack look like workout clothes, so I just pretend I'm on my way to yoga when I'm out and about. Otherwise it's too depressing to see what I look like compared to the rest of London.

It was miserable out there! But I definitely got in the holiday spirit seeing Christmas Trees and Holly for sale!




I met my friends Jules & Emma for a coffee and saw this little guy hanging out! Adorable! The day was a total success, I found a great pair of vintage boots, and didn't spend another dime on all the costume jewelry and antique silver that was so very tempting (credit crunch people!). Now I've got a bit of a cough and sore throat...but it was totally worth it!

Aren't they lovely? If you could live in one of these, the bad weather would be no big deal!

We're in London now. Have you been? It's VERY stylish here. I've been to London before, but this time it's winter, and everyone is wearing fabulous boots and adorable coats. Seriously, everyone looks uh-may-zing. Drool worthy. Satoralist material at every tube station. I keep having this discussion in my head, "Is London the most fashionable city?" Hum...still trying to decide. London definitely wins the most courageous and creative award! Here are my top 5 favorite fashionistas representing their cities:

LONDON:

Kate Moss. Enough Said. She's my #1 (sans the drugs and loser boyfriend, sorry love).



PARIS:

Carla Bruni. Her style is classic, polished...it transcends time. She makes even politics look fabulous!

























NEW YORK:

Sarah Jessica Parker. No one rules the Red Carpet better than SJP.


LOS ANGELES: I want to change her city to the more superior San Francisco, but that's cheating a little.

Cameron Diaz. From bikinis to ripped jeans, she makes casual so so cool.

These cool Pantone mugs look like one Christmas Tree I'd like to have!

I have about 200+ pictures..the pyramids were impossible to stop staring at, really..they take your breath away. Stay tuned for more soon...
