Mapquest

I saw this map at Round Top and I'm still thinking about it. It's from the 1940's, I love that it has no words on it. The colors in real life are an electric blue, black and chartreuse green. I like the idea of having a world map in my house, but don't want it to look too school housey. This one fits the bill! The colors are odd, and it's different to any other map I've seen. Apparently there was one almost identical to this one on 1st Dibs not long ago too. What do you think about Maps? Do they only belong in an office?

I love maps all over the house. This one would be an awesome accent to any room.

I love maps as decor - especially for travelers like you and me!

I absolutely love maps as decor, especially ones that have character. I recently saw one while at Ikea that was nice but needed to be a bit more distressed to not look too school like. The one you found would be perfect!

Thanks everyone! I think Maps are cool, and good for whatever house Tim and I end up living in! It's good to remind yourself that there are other places than the space you are in right?!

I think maps rock too Meg. That one has awesome colors but I want to find one that puts New Zealand at the centre rather than squashed in at the side. Maybe I will pay a cool designer to make a design for me and then start selling it!

Hahaha! Yea, NZ center of the world, I love it! Except its better to keep NZ a secret, keep it beautiful, we don't want tons of people discovering it and flocking there...
