Lighting Is Everything

boulder is so cool

Every time I get a little snippet of Boulder, like seeing this photo, I miss it so much (I spent college plus some there).
Bear Naked is cool. I pretty much think any Boulder based business is cool. Oh, and this design firm is pretty damn cool too.

Amanda Talley's Cool Digs

I love artist Amanda Talley's sweet New Orleans carriage house. Colorful, modern, eclectic. Totally fun. I love her work too...one of these days I hope to have a piece hanging in my lil' bungalow!

New Zealand is Ugly

.....Yeah Right! (Tui)

Tim's Aunt took this photo a few weeks ago at Huka Falls. Those colors are unreal! Getting excited for our May trip down under!

The Hicks

I'm pretty much obsessed with India Hicks, and her Dad David too. I got this book for Christmas and have loved thumbing through every photograph!
I'm thinking I need some of this La Fiorentina fabric somewhere in my house or maybe in my office.

India's Sugar Mill boutique on Harbour Island in the Bahamas is gorgeous. I love how she's got her Dad's infamous graphic prints mixed with her island cool aesthetic.
And of course India's home on Harbour Island is to die for! It makes me relaxed just looking at the photographs!

Soak it Up

Last night Tim came home and took a long bath after running the Houston Marathon. I admire all of those people who have enough stamina, fitness and determination to finish running 26.2 miles. It's unbelievable! Just thinking about it makes me want to soak up in these tubs and bathrooms...

Mardi Gras Season

My Dad is in Lafayette, Louisiana for work this week. I told him not he can't cross that state line without a king cake in hand. It's Monday morning, all I can think about is a King Cake breakfast on Friday! Yay to Mardi Gras!

Power or Prayer

I think we should all say a prayer for the people of Haiti today.
Donations are being taken at the Red Cross.

To Market, to Market!

After a delightful day working on taxes and Quickbooks (aka, it almost makes me want to throw in the towel of my small business), I'm ready for some shopping! Tomorrow I'm off to market in Dallas. Can't wait to show you what's new for '10! I imagine it to be slightly less chic than Carrie prancing around New York, and probably not as hot as pushing around in Chatuchak market in Bangkok. Somewhere in between full of furniture, antiques and home wares is fine by me!
Regardless, it's shopping, browsing, oohing, ahhing and seeing what's new; I know it will be fun!

Hello? Anyone home?

(Meg & Tim at the Sugar Bowl)
Where have I been your whole life?! December swallowed me up and so far January has done the same. Before Christmas I trying to stay afloat while working on a photo shoot for a national magazine, holiday decorating, packing, wrapping, shopping and attempting to make our house look festive for our first Christmas here. Then we went up to San Francisco to visit my in laws for two weeks over Christmas. Then we arrived back to the south and headed straight for New Orleans to ring in '10. Then we had my sister in law visiting and an Australian friend in town, and that brings me to today. Finally I can come up for air. I've abandoned this blog for a while now. At the end of last year I ran out of gas, and out of inspiration. Last week I was thinking, maybe I'll just stop blogging all together. Do I really have anything interesting to write about or share? It takes up time and can be draining sometimes. This weekend I hibernated at home. I cleaned my office. I got organized. I made lists. I crossed things off lists. Now, I feel ready to come back. Ready for a New Year. Ready to blog again. Ready to be inspired! It feels good to be back!
