Fantasy for today.
Behind that pink door lies my baby Frenchie named Jean-Luc. He only responds to you if you pronounce his name in a French accent, "jahn-lewk". 
I know y'all are probably sick of seeing images with that formula I love, white walls, wood floors, insane bookshelves, antique mirrors, Persian rugs, tons of art, leather chairs.....NO tv's. I never ever get tired of it. 
Do y'all like my closet?
I want a wild colored door ....SO bad. Orange, turquoise, eggplant...PINK.

Haunted. Marburger Fall 2010

Yesterday I roamed the fields of Marburger allll day with a client. It was super fun, we found some fabulous things for her home. However, two things that haunted me:
These lamps. From this dealer who comes into town from Palm Beach. Everything in his booth had a sold tag by 4pm. Including the biggest gilt antique frame I've ever seen, it looked like it belonged in the Louvre, sold for 18K to another dealer. Would have made the most amazing mirror, it was unreal. So were these lamps, I really love them.
The other thing was this French interiors painting.
I love the colors and the size. It's from Harper House in Atlanta. Nance has great art and great taste. My client bought a big painted cloth from her that looks like a tapestry, but obviously not as thick since it's painted instead of woven. We're going to make it into a roller shade so it can hide a TV in her big living room...more on that later!
The only things I came home with was a $10 old frame and a serving spoon of my silver pattern. There was a great kilim pillow I wanted but was sold by the time I made it back to go buy it, wasn't meant to be I guess.
Over all it was a great day since my client crossed about 5 or 6 major pieces off her list. I'm only going up once this week since my parrrrtay is on Friday! But in the spring...I'll definitely be visiting more fields other than Marburger...who wants to join me?!

Curious About Paint?

For Rachel's furniture paint section, I would only add that when painting furniture I'd use an oil based paint. I think it looks richer. But you have to use an oil based primer too if you go that route.
I am with Rachel 100 % on interiors, I also always paint walls flat. AND I would also always paint bathrooms eggshell, I painted mine flat recently and it already needs to be repainted with an eggshell finish. Benjamin Moore paint is the best. I just painted my whole house in the premium Aura line, it was worth every penny.

Fall Fashion

All these bloggers are so good and write about what's cool for fall. As for me, I have no idea, I pay attention, but I'm not really stalking the runways. All I know is that today I spent and ungodly amount of money at TJMAX. Shudder, cringe. Don't get me wrong, I'm not TJ hater, it's just, you know, it's a chore, so hard to rifle through all that stuff, especially when I should have been working, not rifling through a bunch of stuff. Urgh, all that stuff with those horribly annoying huge purple price tags.
But, there is this good TJ Max in Houston with this huge, 'rent the runway' section. And I sorta got sucked into stopping by on my way to the framers. That 'rent the runway' section is the only area I can go, and I highly recommend it. Today I was faced with Alice + Olivia, Vince, Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent, Helmut Lang and some drop dead gorgeous Missoni (that was unfortunately all too big). I hit the jackpot. I came home with this: (and yes, it was that exact same CURRENT jacket at TJ max for less than half that price). Money shot. SO fired up over this baby.
Ok, bare with me while I play stylist during this post. This 12th Street dress isn't really fall appropriate, but my brother-in-law is getting married in New Zealand in March. That is end of summer down under. I thought this little number might be good for a brunch or bbq or wedding party. PS. Your local TJ's has this for about 30% less than shopbop.
Ok back to Fall. This Helmut Lang cardi is full price at Saks. Go rifling at TJ's and save yourself $150. I really love that ballet nude color. Better believe I'm going to be spraying myself down with that Neutrogena DIY spray tan to pull it off. If only I could rock those leather pants with those toothpick legs....moving on,
A blurry sequin Vince tank. Sorry for this pooooor quality. It's really a clearance item online now too. Hence the bad photo. Sequins are really hot right now. And they scare me.
Even my 2nd grade dance recital didn't even have that bad of a costume. But this shirt is very doable. Under a tuxedo jacket! With skinny black pants! LOVE. For the record, it's dull sequins. I love that. Understated. I don't really buy dress up clothes anymore other than dresses, which has started to annoy me when I need something to wear out at night. This fits the bill.
I want to look like her. On her shinny is good. Ok, some sequins are really cool.
This last one is my favorite. Well, second favorite, after the leather jacket. A cashmere slouchy shirt. It's kinda 80's. But I could hardly take it off to leave the store. I got it in black. Wearing a cashmere shirt - not sweater - is heaven on earth. To save $150 on this one is SO worth 30 minutes of rifling and 30 minutes of trying.
That's all folks. I have stashed away a few other little secret buys for this fall, but it's time to hit the hay. I can't share all my secrets! Tonight I'm thanking the Lord for my lucky finds and for the fact that my husband doesn't read this blog!

Yea yea yea, long time no post. Sorry. Went to San Francisco for Labor Day. Been really busy watching football (and rugby), planning my party, designing a mega gallery wall of old photos and watching my little house undergo more transformations. Oh, and running a business and being a wife/sister/friend. Blogging sometimes takes a back seat.
But let me just show you a little something gorgeous. Brace yourself, I'm FREAKING OUT over it. My new powder bathroom wallpaper. It's still 'under construction'. But this looks mighty fine so far!! Eeeek! Is it possible to be so in love with cane covering a wall? Yes. It is. I might sleep in there tonight.

Oh, Hello Oscar. Welcome to the Decorative Center, so nice to see you here. It's been a pleasure viewing your new home collection and I look forward to placing some of these knock out textiles in various homes. PS. Grosgrain ribbon is always right, on anything.
