Joyeux Noel

This is the LeSueur Interiors Christmas Card this year.

A picture of the Louvre I took in Paris. It was really pretty, magical. Reminded me of Christmas.

Inside it says:

Be with the ones you love
Eat good food
Laugh a lot
Love your space
Feel the spirit

Now, one other way to feel the spirit is to watch this video. I could watch it 10000x times. It's actually music to my ears. She's so precious...

The Holidays.

Ahhh...the holidays. Exhausting. The traffic alone!
Not to mention the parties. But..I love the parties! What to wear, what to wear?! Something festive!

Jetting off to San Francisco first thing tomorrow morning for holiday celebrations on Saturday night. Love a trip for a party! Tonight we'll be merry and jolly at a fun party hosted by sweet friends! Will be back for Monday....just in time to celebrate another sweet friend's arrival! Enjoy your weekend, I hope it's filled with glitter and sequins and celebrations!

Tartan

I can't get enough of Tartan right now. I could wrap myself in it forever. I picked up this gorgeous lambswool tartan blanket on Portobello Road when I was in London, which seems like forever ago. I love the color combination. Very RL. But actually original, UK original. Here are some others from John Hanly, you can order them online! Most people have neutral sofas, these just add the perfect amount of punch!
AND I've wrapped half my Christmas gifts in tartan paper. With blue bows. So darn cute.

Smells like Christmas

I have this thing about scent. I have a very strong sense of smell...and it's always my first impression when I enter a room. You all know about my Lagniappe candles (which are a great Christmas gift by the way, the girls at High Gloss think so!) and their scent I came up with, which is a mixture of fig, cut hay, oak blossoms, jasmine and black tea. The Lagniappe candle smells like a musty humid spring day walking down St. Charles in New Orleans, if you've done that, you know that the smell of the oak blossoms is overwhelmingly wonderful! For Christmas, I can't get enough of cinnamon. All day on Saturday I had my Christmas potpourri going, I highly recommend this if you're wanting your house to 'smell like Christmas'.

You'll need:

3 cinnamon sticks
3 bay leaves
1/4 c. whole cloves
1/2 t ground nutmeg
1 t ground cloves
1 lemon, halved
1 orange, halved
1 qt. water

Combine all ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer as long as desired. Be sure to check often and add water as needed. Mixture may be stored in refrigerator several days and reused. Makes your house smell great.

It smells like these yummies, and is a LOT easier to make. Trust me on this one.

Deck Yo Halls

Ok Ok. My grinchiness has subsided. I attribute it to a. my new workout plan... those endorphins are something else. and b. we had a Mad Men themed cocktail party this past weekend and it was super fun to get dolled up, decorate, drink and be merry to celebrate the season. I'll share pictures with you later this week. Now with my new found holiday joy, I'm encouraging all of you to get decorating. Here's some inspiration....hop to!

Piroette With Me

I started my one of my New Years Resolutions a month early. Getting into shape. Duh, everyone does that one. I'm no different. It's called: Define, Define Body & Mind. Do it. It's a combo of pilates, yoga and ballet all jam packed in one hour. It's great. Makes your thighs burn. I need that. Hank has a great blog too. Check it out. My sister, Kate, she teaches at Define. We make each other laugh when she's teaching. It's really distracting. Sorry if you ever witness that. It's actually more like me cutting up in class like a naughty second grader. I make faces at her whenever this song comes on.

And I also do ridiculous dance moves in between sets. I embarrass myself and her. It makes working out fun.

I love this little piroetter. And that space she's dancing in. It would make ANYONE want to dance, how gorgeous. Nothing beats a big ass old Heriz carpet. Opaline lamps and slipcovers? Yummy. See y'all at Define!

Boxwood.

This is my favorite way to decorate for Christmas. Boxwood. Green. Gold. French. Simple. I don't go for too much color, bling or shinny. Au naturel. I like big clear bulbs. Real garland, mixed greens. Here's a few iphone pics of some of my Christmas decor - LeSueur Interiors Style. I'll take some of the tree and outside tonight.

Flirty Ring. Sexy Shoes.

This is about as into the holidays as I can get right now. Sorry for this grinchiness. Kate Spade Spring 2011 is lookin pretty nice. You know what else? I bought some little earrings in New Zealand back in May, ballet pink, that look exactly like that ring. Glad Kate and I are on the same wavelength.

Merry Christmas.

Happy Hanukkah.
